OCLC Member Merge Participation

Context

In order to reduce the backlog of duplicate records reported for merging in WorldCat, OCLC started this program in 2013 with a cohort of 4 libraries. Participants receive extensive format-specific training and have their record merges reviewed by OCLC before being authorized to merge WorldCat records independently.

With the growth of the OCLC Member Merge program, more and more libraries in the WorldCat cooperative receive training and are granted authorization to perform master record merges. The Alliance members below are active participants in the program.

Participants

Note: OCLC currently asks that libraries send requests to merge duplicates to bibchange@oclc.org, and NOT directly to Member Merge Program participants. Please see the Alliance’s Best Practice for Reporting Duplicate Bibliographic Records for more details.
