Diversity & User Experience (DUX)

The Diversity and User Experience program provides broad support and leadership on user experience, including accessibility of services and resources. We’re a collaborative community whose work is informed by our dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racist principles. We look toward connections and intersections beyond technology and systems, which include public services and member access–areas of library work where we directly assist, support, and engage with patrons, user communities, and library workers.

Open Strategies & Digital Content (OSDC)

The Open Strategies & Digital Content (OSDC) program advances flexible, scalable approaches to open publishing and discovery across the research lifecycle, and provides services for management of unique and local content. Current services under the OSDC program include: Archives & Manuscript Collections, which provides enhanced access to thousands of archival and manuscript collections in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington through the Archives West website, and support for archival collection management through ArchivesSpace; and Digital Collections, which supports the creation, maintenance, and aggregation of unique digital content held by Alliance libraries. 

Resource Sharing & Fulfillment (RSF)

RSF provides oversight and supports capacity building and resource development for both resource sharing and fulfillment, including Summit, circulation, user accounts, course reserves, and many other aspects of public services. Additionally, the RSF Program Manager manages the Alliance’s Courier Service, providing a cost-effective physical delivery network for exchanging library materials for more than 200 participating libraries across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Shared Content & Technical Services (SCTS)

The Alliance has a longstanding commitment to cooperative collection development and resource management. The consortium supports collaboration, efficiencies, and standards in Technical Services operations, including a shared Alma Network Zone (NZ). SCTS brings together efforts to manage Alliance-wide electronic resource acquisitions and a variety metadata interests.

Systems (SYS)

The Systems program provides broad leadership for technologies used by Alliance members and groups, as well as for the Discovery layer of the Shared Integrated Library System (SILS). The program supports the consortium by investigating and recommending technological solutions to shared needs, providing training and documentation, and assessing adopted systems to achieve improved functionality, efficiency, and interoperability.
