February 1, 2010 meeting with OCLC Agenda
-------------------------------------------------------

Bill, Kyle, AL,  Heidi, Keith, Allie, Anya,
Carolynne

Ralph, Ed, Ron, Maryanne

  1. Work on instructions for this, next OCLC call, need to know what are our next steps, the screen will not becoming from zportal, what do we need to alert are libraries too, and what does OCLC need to get this going. - Ralph and Ed. Willamette, and Lewis and Clark would be willing to try it and write instructions for moving to it. Does OCLC still have request form set up that Anya provided in late june? Ralph and Ed - How will we make the transition?

Notes: OCLC training materials -- for our next call, and pick up locations, RTM, --ED to track down the Request Form. Will Tyler Ferguson be available for the call?

  2. Telnet checkin - Ron how do we tell members to proceed. What are the steps libraries should take if they want to move to this option?
    1. have Rick's documents helped do you need more?
        Email sent 1/4 by Rick
I've attached a file with screen shots and brief explanations of the process for checking in items with holds.  If I'm looking at it correctly, we would need to do the following...

      Each site:
-Set up printers for the OCLC login in III (I suggest leaving ONLY the email printer).
      -Provide an email address.
-Let OCLC know if the Email Note prompt appears when "printing" to email.

      OCLC:
-Configure the Circ Gateway (?) to answer Y when asked to print a slip to place in the book.
-Configure Circ Gateway (?) to enter a specific email address for each site.
-Configure the Circ Gateway (?) to deal with the Email Note prompt for sites with that feature.

John/Ron: Lewis & Clark would be happy to test this, if you'd like.  The email address in the attached doc is the one we would use and we DO get the Email Note prompt.

If anyone has questions, let me know.

      Thanks,
      Rick

Rick is going to send screen shots-- Ron is going to send the elements that are needed -- all the libraries that want to do this -- need an email address that they will want to be sent too-- and the printing  -- Ron not sure what is needed for the in tran.. CG is doing an install on the 21 of Feb -- would like the email address by the end of next week

  1. How do we turn on the configuration option to see the patron search box for staff requesting? Can you just turn this on?

  2. - This is a configuration issues -- but it is not a search box -- but it would have to be a real patron. Bill to test - and send a write up to Anya- then to the Friday message

Question

1. Is there a way that we could get a report that would gather all the  RECEIVED and RETURNED  too longs, and have that report exportable into Excel?  ( this is for AAR) or get a report will all active request from  that were due on or before April 1, 2009   ? ( would need once a year)

-18 months there Queues to help -- Ralph will look into creating that report

2.  “Shipped Item” and “Circulating Item Barcode” in the drop down. Could we change this to “Shipped Item Barcode” so it made more sense?

-training issue-- we will need to look into this on our end

3. Complete vs Checked in ?

this is correct in our way of thinking

Any Updates on the Following:

  1. Stats discrepancies.-- Ralph has asked for new data -- so it will have new data --Bill to check that stats hub next week--
  2. Ezproxy hosting by OCLC.-- going around OCLC
  3. Editions specs (Ed).--Will have by next OCLC call
  4. PUA/VP specs (Julie).--Written up for next call -- willing to do a walk through
  5. Patron deletes, happening automatically now?-- yes they are but will having ----Future this run to break the connection
  6. Rota - looking good right now
