	** Release 2002 Phase 3 now available **

News from III: "Release 2002, Phase 3 is now in General Release. Please
upgrade your software at your earliest convenience to take advantage of
all the new enhancements and fixes."  See CSDirect for information:

	** Same Site Requesting **

Once you have upgraded to Phase 3, several INN-Reach enhancements will be
available.  One of the early ones you might want to consider is "Same Site
Requesting" (Request at own site).  If you didn't attend Alliance
Borrowing Day you may want to review the Handout available on the web:

With this feature, patrons can use Summit to request items available at
the home library, and select from the local pickup locations.  If the
record has more than one available item (from other sites), the home
library becomes the preferred lender and the system does not consult
request balancing priority codes.

To enable this feature, all you need to do is call the III Help Desk and
open a call; III will then take care of setting it up for you. Please let
me know whether you're going to turn on this feature, and when, so I can
make note of it for others to see.

For other features that require coordination with central: We will work on
implementing other features as time allows based on completing the various
aspects of the Orbis Cascade merger, projects already in the works and
status of software upgrades at local sites.

requestrl
     The $IIIDB/data/requestrl file must allow requesting for all local
ITYPES that map to requestable INN-Reach Central Server I TYPES. This file
is referred to as the "Request Rule" file in the User Manual. ruledet

     The $IIIDB/data/ruledet must allow circulation for the combination of
all local I TYPES that are requestable on the INN-Reach Catalog and all
local P TYPES that are allowed to place requests on the INN-Reach Catalog.
This file is referred to as the "Loan Rule Determiner" table in the User
Manual.

In addition, same site requests can only be processed in milcirc.
Therefore, I usually recommend that a site only uses milcirc to process
any INN-reach requests.
