Purpose,
description, and use
Tell the courier where to deliver the materials.
Courier bag labels are pre-printed labels showing the origin of the bag
(the sender, or FROM) and the destination (TO).
Member library staff should not
write anything on these re-usable labels. The label is inserted into the clear
window of the courier bag.
Details
Paging slips and bookbands indicate the specific dropsite to use.
FORWARD TO: Occasionally, the final destination is not the courier dropsite. For
those, the dropsite is in the "TO" section, and the final destination is in
FORWARD TO. Currently, there are only two members receiving materials as a forwarding site: WallaWallaU-Ptlnd and UO-OIMB.
Supply
Design: Designed collaboratively by Alliance and Courier service vendor.
Production: printed by Alliance staff on heavy "card stock"
paper. Or, if you need more:
Connect to site to print labels
Courier labels are re-used.
Label box dividers
Suggestion: print labels for dividers to use in a box of courier labels. Include Dropsite code (number), and print cross references from Summit site to name of dropsite (for example, see OHSU in photo).

Notes about cross references and dropsites:
Most members have one dropsite, under the member's name (such as Marylhurst, or Reed College).
Some members have more than one dropsite (such as Linfield-McMinnville and Linfield-Portland).
Some members have a dropsite known by another name, sometimes because it was established long before Summit Borrowing, without the member institution name included (examples: OGI, part of OHSU; Hatfield Marine Sciences-Guin Library, a part of OSU; Riverpoint Campus).
Some members have an agreement with another library for receiving and forwarding materials. This is allowed when the member has a branch in another city, and materials are forwarded from
a different dropsite nearby. (example: UO-OIMB forwarded through Coos County Lib.Services)
