Catalog statistics

Summary statistics

Totals for bibliographic, order, item, and checkin records; # of links to member institutions; History of % of unique records).

Latest report: 2008 April

Detail statistics

Quarterly statistics supplied by III. Shows number of bibliographic, item, order, and checkin records contributed by each server; number of records that are "unique" from that server, and for bibliographic records, how many institutions are attached.

Tips for interpreting the information on detailed report:

1. Members and servers: combined and split statistics.

  • When members share a server, the data is aggregated. For example, "OSU" includes records for both COCC and OSU; "TESC" includes records for Saint Martin's and Evergreen.
  • Where a member has more than one server (UW and UW-Law), data should be combined to represent the total from that member.

2. % solely held of own records. Of the records contributed to Summit by this institution (or server), what percent is unique in Summit? For example, a very high proportion of the records from Center from Research Libraries -- 85% -- is unique. CRL's proportion of unique records in Summit, however, is about 18%.

3. % solely held of Summit unique. Of the unique records in Summit, what percent is contributed by this institution? The total of all institutions (servers) will be 100%.

4. Bib recs with holdings. The # of bib recs with holdings may be less than the # of records contributed from the site. An institution may contribute bibliographic records without any attached records (item, order, checkin), such as sending bib records for electronic resources with only a "hotlink", or MARC field 856.
